Travel Reviews ...

travel series, but also a series of
freelance works in both the UK and
USA.
Simon and Susan stayed at the
Cricket House in July of 2006
and wrote the following:
"Our stay at the Cricket House
in Gettysburg was all we could
wish for from a small,
boutique-style guest house, and
a lot more besides. The quality
and attention to detail of all
the rooms was distinctly
attention-grabbing and the many
items of beautiful furniture
added a real soothing effect to
returning after a long day
touring the sights - a real
home-away-from-home. The
quiet-yet-accessible location
was ideal for enjoying the
downtown area on foot, while all
the highlights are within easy
driving distance. The owners
certainly haven't skimped on the
little luxuries like high-end
toiletries and kitchen
amenities. There were also
plenty of extras which we didn't
expect, like the magnificent
Jacuzzi, steam-room and
whirlpool tub (in the master
suite), and even touches that
added to the homey feel such as
gourmet tea and coffee, and
local wines. All in all, it
added up to a wonderful little
retreat at the end of the day
that we were loathe to leave at
the end of our stay! In all our
travels, we have encountered a
huge variety of different
hotels, resorts and guests
houses, but never anything quite
this distinct and enjoyable.
